This might be my new favorite way to trash a wedding dress (it really shouldn't be called "trashing," though, since it's essentially being turned into art!). I'm dying to do this again; anyone want to have her wedding dress painted??? I know the artist! Next time, we'll do it with the bride in the dress! (I wonder...would Vera Wang would be flattered...or horrified...if she saw one of her dresses get painted?)
In all honesty, although she is newly engaged (congrats!), this isn't her wedding dress that she's having painted. It's her design! Rachelle McDonald is an incredible fashion designer (Rachelle Briton Designs) who commissioned John Guerin to paint The Queen of Hearts dress for her in preparation for Catalyst 8 and Tribeza's Mad Hatter Tea Party at which she showed. It was such a hit, she showed it along with her new line at The Pin Show the following week. Check out the dress in all its glory: Tea Party pics/Pin show pics (to see these, click on the pic of the British flag bathing suit in the article).
Congratulations to both John and Rachelle. You guys rock!
love the dress, love your dad! My dress is Vera Wang, but I don't think that I will venture to find out what she thinks....
