So, long story short, I made it to the wedding with plenty of time to spare, and the wedding (nearly) went off without a hitch: the rain made an appearance at the end of the outdoor ceremony, which was actually pretty great. Perhaps they say rain on your wedding day is lucky because it causes 100 people to break into spontaneous giddy smiling while witnessing the nuptials. Congratulations Julia and Bryan!

Julia and Bryan are Married!
Two weeks ago I shot my first wedding in Colorado Springs. Other than driving through and a couple quick trips to a friend's house, the last time I really explored the Springs was in 1998. But, boy did I explore this time...it's a good thing I gave myself 4 hours to make the 2 hour trip because I got SUPER lost trying to find the wedding locale. (I wonder how many blog entries mention me getting lost???) Anyhow, despite it being insanely stressful, I really enjoyed my tour de Springs.

I love engagement pics!
One fiasco after the next made for an excellent day in downtown Denver! First, there happened to be a race scheduled for the morning of our shoot (who knew?!?) which meant that the parking situation was a bit chaotic. Next, dog poop covered the first spot that I'd scoped for the shoot. Sheesh! Then, because we'd parked in a different area than where I'd originally planned, I got a bit turned around and (temporarily) forgot how to get to another shoot locale (that's the trouble with being directionally-challenged). Finally, the racers foiled us once more when they crossed the very same bridge I'd planned for our final spot. Good grief! But, despite our calamity-rich day, Tanya and Darrin were awesome! They went with the flow, rolled with the punches, and took it all in stride. Love this couple! Definitely looking forward to shooting their wedding.
