Can't See the Wedding for the Camo

Well, I'm a tad behind on my blogging, which is evident by the fact that I'm just now posting about the Christmas-time wedding that I photographed.  But, we all know what they say about tardiness, so here we go...

It was a gorgeous day at The Barn in Loveland, Colorado.  Snow thick on the ground, sun bright in the sky...my favorite kind of day.

I was so tickled by this wedding's camouflage accents on the flowers, the bridal party, the groom, even the bride!  It was wonderfully unique (and inspired this post's title).

I don't believe I've ever seen a wedding so meticulously planned.  Every single detail was considered: boots on the bride and bridesmaids, barbed wire on the candles (fantastic!), you name it, it was covered.  That's likely due to the fact that the bride's mom is wedding planner and coordinator, Missy Hunt of Dawn's 1st Light.

The day ended with a phenomenal sunset and a very happy couple.  Congratulations to Kaelin and Glenn!

Has it been a year already???

It's hard to believe another year has passed since I last photographed the Sampish/Bauer crew.  My little cousins are growing at warp speed, which is slightly distressing.  (For a look back at last year, click here.)

We're not sure why we chose late November for our photo session.  But we did.  And we chose poorly.   It was 34 degrees outside the morning we took these pictures.  As a result, this year's shoot was fast....I mean, FAST.  Everyone was a really good sport about the cold.  (I thought about taking my coat off in a show of solidarity.  But I didn't.  I wasn't having my picture taken.)  Ultimately, we decided to do next year's pictures in September.  Maybe August, just to be safe.  It is Colorado, after all.

May I introduce Jesse and Katie?

Meet Jesse, my computer repair guy.  (Ours is a symbiotic relationship: Jesse keeps my laptop limping along so that I can stay in business; I do idiotic things to my laptop in order to keep Jesse in business.)

Jesse just got engaged to Katie (a super lucky girl who now gets free computer repair for life).

Together, they are a super cute couple.  Congratulations!

Groom v. Photographer

The last wedding of the summer found me shooting an Aggie's wedding.  (I thought about titling this post, "Go, Tech, Go!" but decided against it.)  And, even though every Red Raider cell in me protests, I must say that I really enjoyed myself, loved meeting the bride, groom, and their friends and family, and (gasp!) thought the A&M details were pretty cute.  Congratulations to Caitlin and Lukas!  (And, don't get too excited about your victory against Tech this year; we'll getcha next time!)

What?!?  How'd this picture get in here?

Another year...

Oh how I love my yearly photo session with this family!  This year found us at the Swetsville Zoo (such a neat place!).  Once again, Lorelei and Maxx have grown a TON.  (What are they feeding these kids?  Fertilizer?  Sheesh!)  To see just how much they've grown, click here and take a look back at the previous two years.  (While doing that, you'll also discover that I use the word "sheesh" a lot.)  Good seeing you GP fam!  I'm already looking forward to next year.

Rustic Meets Chic

Though the clouds threatened rain all day, and, at one point, the bridesmaids and I were certain a tornado was approaching (see pics below!), the weather yielded for Erin and Cory's nuptials.  The sun came out just as the ceremony began, and this farm country wedding on McC Ranch in Masonville, CO was absolutely lovely!  Congratulations to the happy couple!

Good times at Loveland Feed and Grain

It's been a long time since I've shot at the old Loveland Feed and Grain building (I forgot what a neat place it is!).  It's been an even longer time since I've done a shoot at 6am (eek!).  Alyssa and Eric were kind enough to join me at that absurd hour, and we had a great time doing their engagement pictures.  I'm so curious though...who puts all the food out for the stray cat colony living there???  Anyway...congratulations to Alyssa and Eric!  You two are pretty adorable together.
